Capuchin Monastery

The real point of interest in the Capuchin Monastery is the Church of Jesus Christ's Metamorphosis which in 1693 replaced a former meeting house and a school belonging to Czech Brethrens' Congregation. The construction of its tower, very untypical of Capuchin monasteries, in 1884 was funded by the guardian of the monastery and parish priest P. Alberto Chlumecky. The main altar piece just like the paintings of the life of Christ are attributed to J. Ceregheti (1722-1799).
