It would be no exaggeration to say that from the historical viewpoint this production facility is an extremely unique building not only at the European level but worldwide.
The building was designed by Josef Gocar, an outstanding Czech architect, who consistently incorporated in the design features of Rondocubist style. The construction of the factory was commissioned in 1919 by Jan Vanek, Jnr, owner of the Umeleckoprumyslove zavody Company. The building was finished in 1922. The geometric shapes used both in the interior and exterior design of the building are a reflection of the esthetic theory of Lipps.
The designed but never applied color scheme, a combination of red, blue and white, is based on the techniques of expression of Ferdinand Leger's painting school. The formal and expressive characteristics of this building are comparable with the famed Ceskoslovenskych legii Bank in Porici, also designed by Josef Gocar in the early 1920s.
